The Sumter County Board of
Commissioners have voted to allow
political candidates to place one
(1) campaign sign, no larger than 24
inches X 36 inches at the
Fairgrounds on election day in a
place to be decided by the Elections
Supervisor. No other non-official
signage will be allowed on County
property. In addition, as per
Georgia law, O.C.G.A. § 32‑6‑51, no
signage may be placed on the right
of ways of public roads; this
includes campaign signage. Signs
placed with permission on private
property are permissible.
Violations of this state law in
Sumter County will result in the
confiscation of the signage in
violation and possible citation by
County officers. |
